it has just come to my attention that my high school career ends in T-minus 37 days... yup you heard it here first... so you're probably thinking, shreya... what will your future look like... what will your life look like after you graduate?

and to that i say...

but i do want to go to uni, i think... ughhhhh idk this is me rn:

but if i go to uni what would i even do?!! i'm in legal studies rn... so maybe law??? but i'm def not getting in straight away so i guess i'd have to transfer but what if i dont even like it

omg if only i could

 hi guys.... this is #awkward haven't posted in so long but... i'm back !!? and i'm #sick too ughhh

i hate monday mornings !!! the only thing i like is that out of character (a podcast) drops an episode every monday morning; this week it's named positive pals... i'm lowkey listening right now, as i'm typing. they're currently talking about exploring things that are uncomfortable to you instead of comfortable things, like rewatching, and now they're talking about mic drops... idk

anyways, it's 9:28 am and i'm in english rn OMG martin started running and used strava... i neeeeeeeed to start running.

okay guys i'm stating it right here, right now; i'm going to start my active journey !!!!!! and just health in general but hopefully i actually start. actually no i'm actually going to seek discomfort -- i'm going to go on a walk today for at least 20 mins !

my brain is all over the place rn but i'm also trying to plan my multimodal presentation rn... i have 3 options

1. Choose an existing iconic literary character (think novels, stage or screen) and compose and present a 5-minute (1000-word) monologue for that character that gives the audience more information about the character (thoughts, backstory, etc.) or about the plot.
2. Compose a five-minute TED Talk and accompanying slide show on an area of specialisation or personal interest
3. Compose a 5-minute multimodal instructional video that conveys information on how to do something step by step

i chose the second one but i don't know what to do for it. i was thinking delving into the decline of empathy in society... perhaps! i wish half of youtube wasn't blocked ughhh i have so much to watch on this topic, especially related to tiktok. give me ideas down in the comments...

i can’t believe i thought that i would be so old at 17, i couldn’t even comprehend that id ever reach this age, but now i have, i cannot comprehend being like 30 years old, but one day, that’ll be me as well. 

just earlier, i was looking for old blogs just for some inspiration, but i found one where someone was expressing how they can’t imagine being an adult, and the comments were relating and consoling them. this was 2010, meaning they’re all adults now !!? but even then, they couldn’t imagine being older. imagine in 2040, i look back at this version of myself, i can’t comprehend that AT ALL it’s so crazy to think about omg but at the same time, it’s kind of cool? throughout my whole life, i’ve always been the same shreya, but i also feel like i’ve been 1000 versions of myself, a lot of which i would never align with now. i can’t tell if that’s just how it is, growing up, or if the rest of my life will be the same. i think id be okay with both.

where do you think ill be in 15 years? that’s like nearly double my life away. i’ll be 32 years old. that’s how old my mum was when i was 3, and also the year that she fell pregnant with my sister. she also went to nepal and got in a bus accident. and fifteen years prior to that, she was just a kid in high school who never knew that she’d end up living in both nz and australia. 

maybe i’ll also have a family, or maybe i won’t. imagine me with kids LOL i cannot imagine that, at all. and a husband !!? omg 

i’ll be working a job i love, hopefully. hopefully i’m healthy and well, and that i’m loving my life. i hope im not too nostalgic at that time — i lowkey live in the past, it’s so annoying!!! i need to start living in the present 🎁 

i could also be dead or in hospital sick. i saw this tiktok of a girl who worked so hard to get the life she had at that moment. a month or so, until her graduation so she could become a nurse. flights and accomodation booked for a trip in summer. she was studying so hard, all for her life to end before she ever acquired the life she was working for. i always feel so demotivated when i think of that, like what am i even studying for? a life that i could never even get!? but at the same time, what if i never die, so i should try to make life as good as i can, no? idk!!! and also #yolo but in the way that i shouldn’t just be anxious of death and waste my whole life stressed about it. 

i also hope that im still in contact with the people i love rn, in 15 years. hopefully still really good friends, but if not, at least checking up on eachother. i hope my parents are doing well. by that time, my grandma would have probably passed:( rn she’s in the passenger seat of my mums black honda jazz, as we’re dropping her off to my aunties house. it’s okay though, i guess that’s just how life is. right now i should appreciate the time i have with her now, especially since she doesn’t even live in australia. one day, i might be a grandma LOL imagine grandma shreya.

does anyone else think and reflect so much when they’re in a car? because #inacarrn i’m typing this on my notes app. we’re a street from their house yay !

i sound so silly talking about this but i want to be able to read what i said, in 15 years, when ill probably think ‘i was so young at 17’

5 months till graduation

when phrased like that, it seems crazy. the past 5 months have flown by so fast, that my heart hurts to hear that there are only another 5 months left; another 5 months that will fly past me and soon enough, i'll legally be an adult. but surely, in 8 months, i won't change that much--not into a whole adult?!

but time does pass whether i like it or not. it's currently 8 mins to 1am on the 5th of june; tomorrow, my friend since year 4, term 4, turns 18 !!? and then every other person i know, will turn 18. again and again, until it's my turn, but even then, after me, people will still keep turning 18. the fact that it's barely a year away scares me so badly.. soon enough i'll be 77 and a grandma to 5 grandchildren.

guys im going to start a petition to stop time or at least, slow it down #slowdowntime -- who's with me!!!

lowkey forgot about posting here, i mean i've started writing posts but i never seem to have anything interesting enough to write about so i always end up scrapping them BUT today, i had the idea of posting the origin of this blog -- even though its not so old LOL -- but it all relates to pride month! so it's the perfect opportunity!!!

okay so one wonderful morning, actually probably afternoon, i was in legal studies, surfing the web (as 2000s german textbooks say) and i found myself typing out 'josh hutcherson' into the search bar... now, for some context, josh, or rather, jhutch, has been a... an idol per se, of mine, for a few years, and one of these reasons happen to be his activism in gay rights #ally.. but not just any ally. he is THE ally of allies (pls if you know anyone who's more of an ally than jhutch, name them in the comments because i neeeeeeed to know if anyone can beat jhutch). 

just a few examples of his ally-ness:

the reason i started this blog wasn't this video though... going back to how i was searching up jhutch... i actually had a goal for this search; to find his #straightbutnotnarrow and #noh8campaign, and of course, i found it. clicking onto https://www.noh8campaign.com, transports you immediately back to 2010.

the website has many features, but the key component is the galleries of people supporting the noh8 campaign, ranging from celebrities to just regular citizens, including the one and only, josh hutcherson.

going back though, the way that the website looked so 2010, inspired me to actually start this blog---i mean i did have the idea before, but never went through with it and wasnt necessarily planning on it, but after this day, i HAD to start one. this webite is so amazing for it too, so easy to use and doesnt look too modern!

oh my golly gosh, can you believe that april has already bestowed upon us and in just a mere 6 hours our clock will tick back 60 minutes; daylight saving or rather, daylight save us. yes, autumn has arrived and the days will run shorter although one good thing has come from this - the autumn holidays, in which we relax for 2 weeks. much needed rest.

i love autumn yipeeee but lowkey doesnt daylight savings remind you about how time is a man-made constuct and like EVERYTHING is !!? doesn't directly correlate but money is man-made but our whole lives revolve around it; the system we live in, the environment currently being ruined, our political parties. literally everything. like money is literally the reason of climate change and ughhhhhhh its all man-made. basically #humanitysux #capitalismsux

anyways i need to romanticise life and like autumn because i love autumn! 🍂

i need to get into wearing warmer outfits but i lack cool clothes at the moment, and the op shops are calling my name, but alas, i have my schoolwork to tend to... for now mwahahaha.... next next week, ill be a bop at the opps(hop) till i drop! there's a lot of clothes i need, like more basics and like long sleeves, jumpers and pants but more importantly, i'm on the lookout for a cute scarf and lowkey #beaniewinter??! idk i'll see if i find a cute one - comment down below... what are your fav accessories for colder weather!

first we're going to explore how an international treaty has contributed to the provision of human rights in australia, specifically 

convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (CERD)

this treaty has contributed by providing a crucial framework for legal and policy development concerning racial equality in australia. specifically with the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (RDA), which was enacted to implement because australia has responsibility under the convention.
